Body of teenage boy recovered from Ctg canal

The body of a teenage boy was recovered from a canal in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong today, two days after he went missing while taking a bath in the canal.

The deceased, Md Rahat, 13, son of Sagir Ahmed and a seventh grade student of Kumira Residential School, went missing on July 24 after he was carried away by strong currents while taking a bath in Kazipara canal in the upazila, reports our Chittagong correspondent.

On information, a team of divers from Kumira Fire Service and Civil Defence Station conducted a rescue operation but failed to find him, said Abdullah Harun Pasha, senior station officer of the fire service station.

Rahat’s body was found floating on the canal around 1:30pm. Later his body was recovered and handed over to  Sitakunda Police Station, the official added.
