Ex-whip Mostafa Suja passes away
Former whip and Awami League MP from Khulna-4 Mostafa Rashidi Suja died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Thursday night. He was 68.
Suja breathed his last around 12:00am, said his brother Mortoza Rashidi Dara.
The former whip, who had been suffering from kidney ailments, was admitted to the hospital on July 18.
Suja left behind wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He was elected parliament member from Khulna-4 constituency (Rupsha, Terokhada, Digholia) for three times.
Suja was made whip by the then ruling Awami League in 1996.
Meanwhile, newly elected mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khalek, Awami League MP Mizanur Rahman , Begum Monnujan Sufian, MP and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda expressed shock at his death and conveyed sympathy to Suja's bereaved family members.
