2 RMG employees killed in Savar road crashes
Two garment factory employees were killed in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Savar upazila of Dhaka this morning.
Shahin, 33, a store keeper of Al Muslim Garment located at Ulail bus stand in Savar municipal area, died on the spot after a Dhaka-bound bus of Hanif Paribahan hit him in front of the factory on the highway around 7:30am, our Savar correspondent reports quoting police.
The accident took place when Shahin was crossing the road to enter his office, said Abul Kashem, a sub-inspector of Savar Police Station.
Shahin hailed from Sakupara of Dinajpur district, the SI said.
Soon after the accident, a group of workers of Al Muslim Garment rushed to the spot and seized the bus but the bus driver managed to flee the scene, said SI Kashem.
Quoting witnesses, police said the accident occurred as the bus driver of Hanif Paribhan raced against another bus on the highway.
In another accident, Belal Hossain, 35, a security guard of another readymade garment factory, was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him on the same highway at Islampur around 6:00am, said the police official.
