Three people have died in two separate road accidents in Dhaka’s Mirpur and Banani areas.

A motorcyclist and his co-rider were killed when the bike was hit by a four-wheeler at Mirpur’s Beribadh area under Roopnagar Police Station last night.

The deceased were business partners—Abdur Razzak, 46, and Jahidur Rahman Dulu, 42, our staff correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-Charge of Roopnagar Police Station, Sheikh Md Shah Alam.

They were returning to their homes at Beribadh area from Savar, the place of their business, around 10:30 pm when the vehicle hit their motorbike and fled the spot.

The duo was rushed to Shuhrawardi Medical College and Hospital in a critical state where the doctors declared them dead around 11:30 pm, the OC added.

On the other hand, an unidentified person was declared dead this morning after being brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) by Banani police.

The deceased was lying on the road in front of Army Stadium in critical condition when locals informed the police around 7:00am.

He was declared dead by doctors of DMCH around 7:15am, Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia of HMCH police outpost told The Daily Star.

“The deceased was hit and left on the road very early in the morning” the SI added quoting Banani police.
