Tarique will be brought back, punished: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today in Parliament said that BNP's acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will be brought back to the country and punished.
"No matter wherever he is hiding, I have full faith on Allah that he will be brought back to the country and will be punished," the premier said during a question-answer session in the parliament.
She also urged the people of the country to vote for "boat" so that she could continue her work for the safety and progress of the nation.
The last session (23rd) of the 10th parliament began on October 21 and will continue till tomorrow, October 25.
Tarique's convictions
BNP's acting Chairman Tarique Rahman was sentenced to life-term imprisonment in August 21 grenade attack cases on October 10. Besides, he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 7.
In July 21, 2016, BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment and fined Tk 20 crore by the High Court in a money laundering case.
The HC overturned a lower court verdict that acquitted Tarique in the money laundering case involving Tk 20.41 crore.
