Warner signs for Sylhet Sixers
Australia’s David Warner, who got embroiled in a ball-tampering row and is currently serving an one-year ban in international cricket has signed for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) outfit Sylhet Sixers, Espncricinfo reported.
The sixth edition of the BPL, originally scheduled to be held on October-November this year is likely to be held on January next year. Warner, who has never played in the BPL before, is currently in the seventh month of his one-year ban.
Warner has recently featured in the Gloabal T20 league in Canada and also played for St. Lucia in the Carribean Premier league since his ban.
Warner had a horrid time with the bat playing for Winnipeg Hawks in Canada. However, in the CPL, another wretched start for St Lucia Stars doomed them to miss the playoffs for the second year in a row, and Warner only managed one half-century in his nine innings. He scored 220 runs at an average of just over 31 with a strike-rate of 111.67.
Warner had played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL before he had to step down following the ball-tampering row in March this year.
