Shakib granted NOC to play in UAE T20X

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, currently recuperating from a finger injury, was granted No Objection Certificate (NOC) by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the inaugural Emirates T20 league known as the 'UAE T20X' tournament.

The tournament which will begin on December 19 and last for 25 days, includes international stars such as Steve Smith and Shahid Afridi. Shakib is reportedly going to feature in the tournament from December 23, two days after the end of Bangladesh's series against the West Indies.

According to BCB's Cricket Operations Committee chairman Akram Khan, the all-rounder could take part in the series against West Indies. BCB media committee chairman Jalal Younus informed that Shakib's NOC was subject to getting medical clearance. "The medical team will have to clear him before he leaves," he said.

Shakib suffered an injury to his left hand's little finger during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka in January. He had to return home midway through the Asia Cup as his injury in the little finger of his left hand flared up and subsequently underwent an emergency surgery to extract pus from his finger upon return.

He relayed upon seeing a consultant in Australia that his infection was under control and that there was no chance of undergoing any surgery for six months to one year until the infection subsided. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation and said that he would have to get back to playing in order to find if the pain reappears in his hand, in which case he will have to undergo surgery.
