Glycerine – the winter wonder
BREW YOUR OWN CONCOCTIONS
If pure glycerine becomes too powerful for you, you can always mix in a few drops with your gel or cream moisturiser. This will not make your skin too oily or clogged, and will achieve the perfect balance.
While cleansing the skin as well, put in a drop with your face wash before you start to lather, and it will prevent your skin from drying up excessively after a wash. The same technique can be applied with your shampoo as well to prevent your scalp from drying up.
HYDRATING LIP MASK
Using glycerine based products lead to lips being plumper and restoring their healthy pink tones once moisturised properly. Apply a thin layer of glycerine before bed every night, and the difference will become evident very soon.
FACIAL MASK
Glycerine, lemon juice, and rose water creates a remarkable combination of helpful skin ingredients which can be applied as a mask. Dip in some cotton pads and place them on your face till it dries, and your skin is guaranteed to feel rejuvenated. You could also try adding some sugar in this same combination and use the rest as a scrub.
TONER FOR THE SKIN
3 parts rose water and 1 part glycerine can create a great DIY toner which will help tighten your pores and smoothen out your skin.
MAKEUP REMOVER
A lot of makeup removers are filled with chemicals that are not the most skin-friendly. Instead, why not opt for some nice glycerine which can melt your makeup away without destroying your skin.
LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
Glycerine specialises in trapping moisture, which makes it a great leave-in conditioner for our hair. Winter wreaks havoc on our hair, making it dry and brittle, and super prone to breakage, and glycerine can be a solution to that.
QUICK CALLOUS TREATMENT
Callouses are not as visible during the winter, as we tend to mostly wear closed shoes. However, they feel tough, scratchy, and look terrible once we switch back to summer sandals in a month or two. Glycerine can help treat these stubborn skin irritations by helping it to mature quicker.
HELPS WITH BODY ACNE
Dry skin leads to over-secretion of oils, which eventually leads to clogged pores, resulting in acne. Using soaps incorporated with glycerine can help your skin retain moisture and free your pores.
Now that you know the many wonders that glycerine can perform, make sure to never leave home without it.
