Ctg city BNP president ‘picked up’

BNP alleged that plain cloth cops “picked up” its Chattogram city unit president from Dhaka this afternoon.

Shahadat Hossain, president of Chattogram city unit BNP, was detained when he was coming out of the chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) court of Dhaka around 5:00pm, Shamsuddin Didar, member of BNP chairperson's media wing, told The Daily Star.

He was at the court to talk with lawyers regarding cases against some of his party men, he added.

Abdul Baten, additional commissioner of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star that they were not aware of such incident.
