Hyderabad retain Shakib

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions, the Times of India website reported yesterday.

Shakib is currently recovering from a finger injury and started doing light batting sessions just a few days ago. His IPL side Sunrisers made it to the final of the last edition of the tournament in Shakib's maiden season with the franchise.

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman, however, was released from three-time champions Mumbai Indians. He was acquired by Mumbai last season but did not make the kind of impact that was expected of him.
