It's True!
Gazi Rakayet's 2013 film “Mrittika Maya” did not look like a head-turner at all, with a relatively inexperienced lead cast and a low-key release, but at the National Film Awards, it crushed a 35-year record of most awards by a single film, held until then by “Golapi Ekhon Train-e” (1978). It won best film, best director, best actor and actress (for the virtually-unknown Titash Zia and Shormimala), both best supporting roles (Raisul Islam Asad and Aparna Ghosh), best actor in a negative role (Mamunur Rashid), as well as best story, best dialogue and best screenplay (all to Rakayet).
