Reza Kibria's nomination cancelled on loan default charge
The nomination paper submitted by Reza Kibria under Gonoforum for Habiganj-1 has been rejected on loan default charges.
Habiganj Returning Officer Mahmudul Kabir Murad today rejected the nomination papers of Reza Kibria, son of late Awami League leader and former minister Shah AMS Kibria, after scrutiny, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
Replying to a query, Reza Kibria told reporters that he failed to pay loan worth Tk 5,500 to City Bank for yearly renewal of its credit card as he was abroad.
However, the payment has been already made and he would appeal against the RO's decision to cancel his nomination papers, he added.
Earlier on November 18, Kibria joined Gonoforum at the party Chief Dr Kamal Hossain's chamber in Dhaka's Motijheel and collected the party's nomination form to contest the upcoming election from Habiganj-1 constituency.
