Mash cites two reasons for coming into politics
Not many sport stars are known for entering politics while they are still enjoying their day out in the field. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who is set to participate in the upcoming general elections suggested that he always harboured the willingness to work for people and that brought him to politics.
The cricketer cited two reasons for coming into politics and the thought process that triggered his decision.
"My career is towards its end. Neither am I Sachin Tendulkar nor am I Glenn McGrath that people will remember me (after I leave)," he said.
Mashrafe built the Narail Express Foundation and has been working for the people of Narail to the best of his abilities. He said that getting the Prime Miniseter's support to fulfill his childhood hopes, also played it's part.
"I have played cricket my own way during my struggling life. But I have always enjoyed being able to work for people. You can say that it was one of my childhood expectations. The honourable Prime Minister gave me the opportunity to do something on a larger scale and I wanted to take that chance," he concluded.
