Remembering Kader Khan

Veteran actor and screenwriter Kader Khan passed away on Tuesday morning in Canada at the age of 81. The actor had been admitted after complaining of breathlessness and was put on a BiPAP ventilator. He was unable to talk and also showed signs of pneumonia. Kader Khan suffered from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. He also underwent surgeries for his knees in 2017.
In a career spanning over 45 years, Kader Khan acted in over 300 films. As a screenwriter, the actor wrote dialogues for over 250 movies as well. He was an integral part of David Dhawan and Govinda collaborations in the 1990s, delivering blockbusters like Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, Dulhe Raja and Haseena Maan Jaayegi.
Following the news of his death, celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar, Manoj Bajpayee and many others expressed their condolences on social media.
