Ashraf's body to be brought home tomorrow

The body of iconic politician Syed Ashraful Islam will be brought back home tomorrow.

A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will be bringing back his body and land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 5:30pm.

AL leaders led by the party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader will receive the body, said a press release issued by the Awami League today.

Later, the body of Syed Ashraf will be brought to his government residence on Baily Road in the capital around 7:00pm and kept at Combined Military Hospital overnight.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 10:30pm on Sunday. Later, his body will be taken to Kishoreganj by helicopter.

He will be buried at Banani graveyard after Asr prayers.

Syed Ashraf, former general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and the serving public administration minister, breathed his last yesterday.

He succumbed to lung cancer at a hospital in Thailand.
