BGB launches 'Simanta Data Centre'
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today launched the 'Simanta Data Centre' at its headquarters in Dhaka's Pilkhana to make the force's operational activities more modernised, contemporary and dynamic.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director Major General Shafeenul Islam, ndc, psc, inaugurated the centre at 10:00am, said a press release of the paramilitary force.
The data centre, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will make the force's operational and administrative activities more dynamic and flawless, it said.
The 'Simanta Data Centre' will also facilitate quick recruitment to BGB along with providing border surveillance system, patrol tracker system, border management service, BGB mail service, active directory and so on.
All IT applications and systems of BGB will be centrally controlled through the centre, the release also reads.
The construction of a larger data recovery site is underway in Jashore as a backup to the main data centre.
