Negligence of duty won’t be tolerated: ACC secy
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary Muhammad Delwar Bakht today expressed his firm stance against corruption saying no negligence in dealing with the issue will be tolerated.
“There is corruption behind all sorts of system loss. We will have to resist corruption collectively. We won’t tolerate any negligence in dealing with the issue,” Delwar Bakht said.
The newly-appointed ACC secretary came up with the warning in a view exchange meeting with the staff and officials of the commission at its Segunbagicha headquarters in Dhaka this noon.
Stressing the need for accelerating the speed in the commission’s work pattern, Delwar Bakht said the allegations those are being dropped to the commission office will have to be solved within the fixed timeframe.
Claiming that the building of strong resistance against corruption is the heartfelt desire of the countrymen, he said, “There is no alternative, but to go on hardline against corruption if we want to strengthen or sustain on the development highway.”
“It is our legal responsibility to resist corruption and we all will have to remain above all sorts of corruption. The consequence will not be happier if anyone indulges in corruption,” he warned.
Several high ups of the anti-corruption watchdog, among others, were present at the view exchange meeting with ACC Director General Mohammad Munir Chowdhury in the chair.
