BGB recovers 20,000 Yaba pills in Teknaf
Border Guard Bangladesh recovered 20,000 pieces of Yaba in an abandoned condition in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early today.
In the early hours today, when a patrol team of BGB-2 Battalion was patrolling the Najirpara BOP area, a man was seen running into a nearby village after dropping a bag there in the dark, Asaduzzaman, director of BGB-2 Battalion, told The Daily Star.
The patrol team led by Subedar Mohammad Shah Alam then picked up the bag and found 20,000 pieces of Yaba worth around Tk 60 lakh from it, the BGB official said.
Despite the surrender of 102 top narcos in Teknaf recently, yaba smuggling continues under the supervision of some listed godfathers and hundi traders who recently launched credit sales of the pink pills.
