Man held with 30,000 yaba pills

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a man with 30,000 pieces of yaba pills from the road in front of Dinajpur Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrestee is Zahangir Hossain, son of late Ismail Hossain of Dangapara under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur.

Following a tip-off, a Rab team conducted a raid on a road in Kalitola area near Dinajpur Police Station, said Sohel Rana Prince, deputy director of Crime Prevention Company  under Rab-13 in Dinajpur.

On suspicion, the members of elite force caught the man with a large carton.

Rab members searched the carton and found 30,000 pieces of yaba pills in several hundred facial cream containers, which were imported from Myanmar.

The arrested man was handed over to police after filing a case.

The value of the pills would be around Tk 1 crore.
