RU bootcamp: 6 teams work on project prototypes on day 2
Six teams of challengers are finalising separate prototypes of their projects in the second day of the Media Tech Challenge Bootcamp 2019 at Rajshahi University today.
The bootcamp started yesterday aimed to give the participants a hands-on experience in coming up with innovative solutions to new media.
The authorities of RU and Deutsche Welle Akademie, organised the three-day programme for students of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) are participating in the bootcamp, along with journalists from Today, Channel i, and The Daily Star at Dr MA Wazed Miah Academic Building on the RU campus.
On the first day yesterday, participants were divided into six teams, and brought out six different ideas of solutions to ongoing national issues.
Those ideas include making an interphase based solution to fight environment pollutions, to women harassment, women empowerment and verifying fake news stories throughout technology.
In different phases of the bootcamp the mentors of the bootcamp were briefed about the ideas and they helped out the teams to execute them.
Today, participants of those teams sat into discussion following their selected idea and started developing a tool, project or app that can be used by media houses in future.
A jury will select the three best solutions from this challenge tomorrow, and DW Akademie will help the winning teams realise their ideas – with additional mentoring and funding worth Tk 2,00,000 for each team.
