Local BCL leader stabbed dead in N’ganj, 4 held

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League was stabbed dead allegedly over previous enmity in Narayanganj’s Rupganj upazila.

Sohel Mia, 27, was the publicity secretary of BCL Bholabo union unit, our Narayanganj correspondent reports quoting police.

Sohel was waylaid when he was returning home around 9:00pm yesterday, said Sub-inspector of Rupganj Police Station.

The miscreants stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. He was declared dead after he was rushed to a hospital, the SI said.

Police sent the body to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Four persons were detained for interrogation and a case will be filed in this connection, he told the correspondent.
