Bhutan PM coming for official visit in Apr
Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering is expected to visit Bangladesh in April with an aim to strengthen ties, especially in the sector of bilateral trade.
He will be arriving in the second week of April at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque said today.
The secretary made the disclosure after a meeting with his Bhutanese counterpart Sonam Tshong at the state guesthouse Meghna this afternoon.
During the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC), the two foreign secretaries discussed a number of bilateral issues, including enhancing trade and commerce, establishing connectivity and cooperation in the energy sector.
The Bhutanese foreign secretary told reporters that the prime minister of Bhutan, a medical college student of Dhaka, is very eager to visit Bangladesh. The visit will be in mid-April.
