Now AL man found with ammunitions at Dhaka airport
A leader of ruling Awami League was handed over to police for carrying ammunitions without declaration at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning.
ABM Majharul Anam, president of Darussalam unit of AL, was found to be carrying 44 bullets while passing through the security scanners around 10:00am, a top official of Aviation Security (AVSEC) told The Daily Star.
As per the rules, a person carrying arms and ammunition must inform the airport authorities beforehand but he did not follow the procedure, the security official said.
He was scheduled to fly to Cox’s Bazar but the authorities did not let him board the plane.
The bullets were found inside his handbag, he said adding, Majharul was handed over to Biman Bandar Police Station.
Legal action will be taken against him for breaching the security protocol of the airport.
