Passenger with yaba in stomach held at Dhaka airport

A passenger along with 4,500 yaba tablets inside his stomach was detained at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.

Tipped off, a team of the airport armed police detained Shamsul Huda, 30, from the outside the domestic terminal around 12:30pm, Airport Armed Police's Additional Police Superintendent (opps and media) Md Alamgir Hossain told The Daily Star.

Shamsul, son of Rafiqul Islam of Nilphamari’s Dimla upazila, came to the Dhaka airport by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Cox’s Bazar today, said Alamgir Hossain.

Later, the 4,500 yaba pills worth Tk 13.50 lakh were detected in his stomach through x-ray.
