Law Minister Anisul Huq has pledged to ensure justice for Nusrat Jahan Rafi, the madrasa girl of Feni who was torched for reporting sexual assault.

Speaking at a programme in Brahmanbaria today, he said the government is committed to hold an exemplary trial in this regard and ensure justice.

He also touched on the issue of BNP’s Zahidur Rahman taking oath as a lawmaker, all the while slamming the party’s secretary general for making a comment over it.

“BNP sees shadow of government in everything. BNP leader Fakhrul doesn’t know how to show respect to people and even his party men,” said the minister.

He was responding to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s comments that the government has forced Zahidur to take oath against BNP’s organisational decision.

BNP MP-elect Zahidur has taken oath to keep his promise towards the people, said Anisul Huq.

Mentioning the recent attacks in Sri Lanka, the minister said the government wants to stop militant blasts alike New Zealand and Srilanka.

He also urged the attending students in the function that militancy has taken an epidemic shape now worldwide.

“Society can't stand on its feet with drug and militancy. So, we want to root-out both of drug and militancy from Bangladesh forever,” said Anisul Huq.
