‘DUJA is the watchdog of Dhaka University’

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman has lauded the role of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) as a watchdog of the university.

"Journalists should always bring out the truth before the nation through objectivity. It is the 4th pillar of the state." the VC said at a seminar yesterday.

He was speaking at a seminar ‘Barriers to the profession of Journalism and the future challenge’ organised by DUJA at Teacher-Student Center (TSC) auditorium.

Associate Professor of Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism department Saiful Alam Chowdhury presented the keynote speech.

Also, at the programme, the new DUJA executive committee with Rayhanul Islam of Daily New Nation and Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) at its head, took charge for 2019 sessions for one year.

Editor-in-Chief of GTV Syed Ishtiaque Reza, Press Club President and Acting Editor of Daily Jugantor Saiful Alam, Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haq Nur, Ducsu General Secretary (GS) Golam Rabbani, Assistant General Secretary Saddam Hussain also spoke in the seminar.
