Man accused of raping 6 schoolgirls
A man in Jashore’s Sadar upazila has been accused of raping six students of a government primary school in the last two months, luring them with snacks.
The president of the school’s governing body filed a case against Aminur Rahman with Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station on Wednesday, said Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The incident came into limelight after three of the six students were absent for an exam on April 28. When the school authorities asked them for the reason of their absence, the students said that they were raped between April 24 and April 27 by Aminur, said the school’s principal.
According to locals, Aminur is involved in many criminal activities in his area including theft, mugging, and extortion.
He went into hiding after the incident caused outrage among locals, said the OC, adding that police were trying to arrest the accused.
The victims were sent to Jashore Sadar Hospital for medical tests.

According to the victim’s family, Shahjahan, a friend of the victim’s father, raped the girl on February 22 and was caught red-handed by the victim’s grandmother. But both the victim and the witness decided to hold back.
Shahjahan threatened the victim’s family of dire consequences if they shared the incident with anybody. He also tried pressurising them to marry off the girl with him, the victim’s family alleged.
Abul Hasnat, additional superintendent of Natore Sadar police, said they were trying to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
