BNP leader Shimul Biswas freed on bail
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas walked out of jail today after around 14 months of arrest.
He was released from Narsingdi Jail on bail this noon after his bail order reached there, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of Khaleda’s press wing, told The Daily Star.
On February 8, 2018, Shimul Biswas accompanied Khaleda to the special court in Bakhshibazar on the day of verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
Police showed him arrested on that day in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station, filed over creating anarchy and violence near High Court premises.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda was handed five years of imprisonment in that verdict.
