Awe and wonder of the House of Ahmed

"I wanted to give my studio a very nostalgic antique look; utilising the space such that it looks like cosy clutter. Everybody feels at ease and my clientele can look through the collection peacefully making sure that they make the right choice for their Eid-wear," a very passionate Ahmed Tuhin spoke casually, sitting on the arm of his grand sofa.

Ahmed Tuhin Reza began 'House of Ahmed' along with his wife Tanzila Elma only a few months ago and in no time it has caught the attention of Dhaka's fashion-enthusiasts. It is only a daily ritual for them to cater to hundreds of customers swarming in their studio, which stands as the epitome of excellence.

House of Ahmed has very intricately structured their panjabi line for men as they have brought three designs for the three times of the day.

As morning-wear, they have focused on shades of white. For afternoons, they have played around with pastel shades and floral prints. and lastly, for evenings, they have emphasised on darker shades.

House of Ahmed intends to offer their patrons a premium experience. All of their fabrics have been imported from the best markets abroad making sure high quality fabrics are tailored to fit the buyer. They make sure that they imbue the essence of the craftsmanship of their highly skilled couturiers, such that the wearer can feel the love and effort that goes into making the masterpiece. This allows them to feel connected to their outfit better and enjoy wearing it.

"For our women's wear, we have incorporated a lot of florals and have added Islamic architectural motifs to uphold the spirit of our tradition and beliefs," said Ahmed Tuhin.

Their Eid Collection for women consists of a mixture of pastel shades, vibrant hues, and earthy tones. The dynamic fashion house has made sure that no one leaves their studio empty-handed as they have crafted hijabs, limited muslin sarees, shararas and jackets; there is something for everybody.

In addition, they have brought variations in their cut and design to make sure it stands out and the ladies look chic and spruce.

House of Ahmed has paid significant attention on zardozi in both their menswear and ladies' wear so that their attire has an element of grandeur. Their zardozi work not only validates the skill of their craftsmen, but also upholds the festive nature and mood of Eid. After all, this is what Eid is all about.

The couple left the norms of corporate life in pursuit of establishing a fashion house which truly gives them purpose. Dhaka thanks the dynamic duo for taking the leap of faith and pursuing true happiness for now we have a fashion house we can be proud of; providing us with sophisticated ethnic wear that can be represented on the international scene.
