DISS celebrates "International Day of Art of Giving 2019"
Daffodil Institute of Social Science (DISS) has observed "International Day of Art of Giving 2019" on May 16, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University in the capital. To mark the day DISS distributed food packets and stationary among underprivileged, destitute children and their family at three Daffodil premises at Dhanmondi, Ashulia, and Chandpur. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Yousuf M Islam, VC of DIU; Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of DIU; Lt. Col. Md. Zahirul Islam, Principal of Daffodil International College; Mahmudul Hasan, Principal of Daffodil International School; Rahima K Mirza, In-charge of HRDI distributed food packets among the underprivileged children and their family.
DIU hosts "Communication for Career" workshop
To uplift the Human Resource (HR) ecosystem of Bangladesh, communication firm Ra'dia Inc in association with Dream Deviser hosted a workshop titled "Communication for Career" on May 4, 2019. The daylong workshop was held at Dr. M. I. Patwari Auditorium, Dhaka International University (DIU), Green Road Campus, Dhaka.
"Communication for Career" workshop was organised with an aim to increase the understanding of HR scenery in Bangladesh and to give the participants an insight into the diverse sources of preparation to compete for the present job market. The workshop introduced and provided resources that would support the attendees for matchmaking for volunteerism, interns or part/full time jobs with the concerned HR professionals. Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary MP, Vice Chairman of Dhaka International University attended the workshop as chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.
The workshop was conducted by Ajeyo Rohitashwo Al Quazi, Group Chief People Officer (GCPO) of Aamra Companies; M Ahsan Ullah Khan, EVP & Head of PR & Comm., Standard Bank Ltd; Mohammad Monerul Islam, General Manager, SME, Robi Axiata Ltd; Siraj Siddiquey (Shakil), Head of Digital Banking & E-commerce, BRAC Bank Ltd; Sarif Neer, Deputy Manager Communication, ActionAid Bangladesh; and Mir Abu Touhid BPM, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Police Headquarters.
One hundred and fifty participants from various public and private university students were selected through an online scrutiny based on inclusivity, diversity, and empathy between the ages of 20 and 35. Dhaka International University was the knowledge engagement partner, Team PR as branding engagement partner and SHOUT as youth engagement partner of the workshop. The Daily Star was official media partner of the event.
UIU holds Summer 2019 orientation ceremony
United International University (UIU) organised an orientation programme to welcome the newly admitted students of Summer 2019 at its auditorium on May 17, 2019.
Students from School of Science and Engineering and School of Business and Economics participated in the programme where Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, VC of UIU was present as the chief guest.
Welcoming the newly enrolled students and their parents, he called upon the students to capitalise on their student lives to become the best professionals in respective fields.
Prof. Dr. M Rezwan Khan, Executive Director of Institute for Advanced Research and former VC of UIU suggested guardians to keep track on their offspring.
Highlighting the academic rules of the university Prof. ASM Salahuddin, Registrar of UIU assured of extending all essential cooperation to the newly admitted students. Head of CSE and EEE Department, BBA Program Director were present among others. Director of Career Counseling Center delivered the concluding remarks in the programme.
Montpellier Business School official visits EDU
Gaelle Enjalric, Deputy Director of International Admissions and Talent Selection Department of France-based Montpellier Business School, visited the permanent campus of East Delta University (EDU) in the Chattogram city's East Nasirabad area recently.
EDU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sikandar Khan welcomed Enjalric at the university campus. Later, the guest participated in a seminar organised by EDU. Enjalric said Montpellier Business School is a gathering place of talented students as the institution wants to expand new thoughts and knowledge in the globe.
She also said they will hold meetings with EDU to increase bilateral relationship between the institutions through different programmes. The visiting deputy director informed that her institution is now offering graduation, post-graduation, and MBA programmes to the students.
EDU VC in his speech said knowledge gets flourished through exchange of knowledge among different groups. Terming the willingness of Montpellier Business School to work with EDU as a positive initiative, he said both the universities will benefit from exchange of knowledge.
EDU founding Vice Chairman Sayeed Al Noman said objectives of the both universities are to create entrepreneurs who will play a significant role in the commercial world in future.
The university's Treasurer Prof. Sams Ud-Doha; Registrar Sajal Kanti Barua; School of Liberal Arts Associate Dean Muhammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury; School of Business Associate Dean Dr. Mohammad Raqibul Kabir; and Proctor Ananya Nandy were present at the seminar among others.
NSU holds orientation programme of Summer 2019
Orientation programme of Summer semester 2019 for new students was held recently at North South University (NSU). Around 1200 students enrolled in the 16 departments under four different schools, and 42 students were given scholarships for outstanding results in the admission test.
International Affairs Advisor to the PM, Prof. Dr. Gowher Rizvi was present as the chief guest. Chairman of Partex Group, former MP and Chairman, BOT, NSU, MA Hashem was present as the special guest during the ceremony. VC Prof. Dr. Atiqul Islam presided over the programme.
Prof. Dr. Gowher Rizvi said to the students, university life is very important in a student's life. He also emphasised on providing work-oriented education. In addition, he thanked the authorities of NSU for playing a leading role in providing higher education in the country.
VC Prof. Dr. Atiqul Islam thanked all the guests who were present during the programme and also thanked the respected parents for trusting NSU.
Among others, members of BOT, MA Kashem; Benajir Ahmed; Rehana Rahman; Yasmin Kamal; Pro-VC (Designate) Prof. Dr. GU Ahsan; and Deans of different schools, Directors, senior officials, teachers, students, and guardians were also present during the programme.
IUBAT organises freshmen orientation of Summer 2019

IUBAT organises freshmen orientation of Summer 2019
The 81st orientation ceremony for freshmen of Summer 2019 of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) was held at its permanent campus at Uttara on Sunday.
IUBAT welcomed the newly-enrolled students of the BAEcon, BATHM, BSAg, BCSE, BSCE, BSEEE, BSME, BBA, and MBA programmes.
The orientation started with the welcome address by Registrar of IUBAT Prof. Md. Lutfar Rahman while VC Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab presided over the ceremony. IUBAT Pro-VC, Deans, coordinators, chairs, teachers, officers and employees were present at the ceremony.
