BNP demands resignation of food, agriculture ministers
BNP today demanded immediate resignation of food and agriculture ministers holding them responsible for “plunging the country’s food and agriculture sectors into an anarchical situation”.
“We demand instant resignation of the food and agriculture ministers as their failures lead to the fall of paddy price,” BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka, Rizvi also the spokesperson of BNP, said, “If it were a civilised government, the ministers would have resigned shouldering the responsibility.”
Calling upon the government not to “repress people by hanging on to power forcibly”, Rizvi said, “People are taking their lives by themselves as hunger, wailing, starvation and semi-starvation are getting an acute turn while farmers are setting the paddy field on fire after being denied of fair price.”
Terming the government as “illegal”, Rizvi said the ruling quarter has destroyed the country’s economy by creating economical discrimination in the society.
