Militancy can raise heads anytime: Nasim

Claiming that the menace of militancy has not been eliminated yet, Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim today expressed his concern over the possible fresh emergence of militancy in the country.

“The militancy can raise their heads anytime as the militant groups are engaged in hatching conspiracy to destroy our democracy,” said Nasim, the spokesperson of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance.

Addressing an iftar party at the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka, he also said his party will hold rallies at divisional and district level headquarters against the menace of militancy after Eid.

“Our democracy is not freed from BNP-Jamaat nexus as it is still hatching a conspiracy. We will have to remain alert under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

The BNP-Jamaat men are maintaining silence, but they have not been rooted out yet, they are just accumulating force secretly, the Awami League leader said calling upon the leaders and activists of the alliance to forge a collective resistance across the country against them (BNP-Jamaat).
