Cabinet okays national budget for FY 2019-20

The cabinet approved the proposed national budget for fiscal year 2019-20 this afternoon.
It was approved around 2:15pm with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chairing the special meeting held at the parliament complex, Parliament Secretariat sources said.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will place his maiden budget of around Tk 523,190 crore at the Jatiya Sangsad shortly.
The budget will be the first of the finance minister, who took charge of the ministry in January this year.
The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) went into the budget session on Tuesday.
It is the third session of the 11th parliament and the first budget session of the Awami League government which assumed office after a landslide victory in the December 30 national election.
