Budget: Revenue collection estimated at Tk 3,77,810cr

Total revenue collection is estimated at Tk 3,77,810 crore in the proposed national budget for fiscal year 2019-20.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this while placing his maiden budget of around Tk 523,190 crore at the Jatiya Sangsad this afternoon.

The total revenue collection has been estimated depending on the planned tax management steps, the minister said.

Of the total estimated revenue for the next fiscal, Tk 3,25,660 crore will be collected through the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in the form of income tax.

Meanwhile, tax revenue from non-NBR sources have been estimated at Tk 14,500 crore, Kamal said.

Besides, non-tax revenue is estimated at Tk 37,710 crore, he added.

The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) went into the budget session on Tuesday.

It is the third session of the 11th parliament and the first budget session of the Awami League government which assumed office after a landslide victory in the December 30 national election last year.
