CRICKET
I don’t usually care for cricket. My understanding of the game is limited to a surface level understanding of the rules and a Hasan Minhaj bit about the BCCI. But it’s World Cup season and like everyone else in the country I spend my evenings calculating required run rates because the TV would rather show me an ad for biscuits. Risking the wrath of cricket enthusiasts everywhere, I find the game rather boring and on many occasions have let my feelings on the banality of watching the first innings known. But it’s World Cup season and Bangladesh are playing. It’s hard not to catch the fever when a game can bring a city as chaotic as Dhaka to a standstill. Even if you’re not watching the game, you’ll know about boundaries and wickets. The city tells you. These days, cricket is one of the few things that bring us together.
