Microbus cylinder blast injures 16 in Chattogram
At least 16 people have suffered burn injuries after the gas cylinder of a microbus exploded on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chattogram’s Patia.
The blast occurred after the microbus was hit by a covered van from the rear around 10:30pm last night near PTI Bus Stand, our local staff correspondent reports.
Akhtar Hosen, a sub-inspector (SI) of Patia Police Station, confirmed the facts and told The Daily Star that the injured were all of a family, passengers of the microbus.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) burn unit.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Alauddin Talukder, the police officer in-charge of CMCH police outpost told The Daily Star that all the injured are now out of danger.
From what could be known from local Fire Service and Civil Defence office, the microbus was heading to Chandanaish from Chattogram.
