Two Rohingya youths have been detained with Bangladeshi passports and visas for India and Myanmar at Akhaura Immigration Check-post in Brahmanbaria.

Muhammad Kamal, 24, son of Mohammad Harun Mia, and Sabbir Mollah, 22, son of Ali Hossain, were detained by the Immigration Police yesterday evening when the duo tried going to India, Sub-inspector Abdul Hamid, also the in-charge of the check-post, told our local correspondent.

Kamal obtained his passport from Noakhali regional passport office while Sabbir obtained his from Dhaka passport office, he said.

In primary interrogation, both of them confessed that they are Myanmar nationals, he said.

The duo obtained visas for India and Myanmar, SI Abdul Hamid said, adding that Kamal admitted he was staying at Balukhali Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar with his parents and Sabbir at Bakulia residential area of Chattogram.

They were handed over to Akhaura Police Station, he added
