NSU arranges faculty orientation programme for Summer 2019
A two-day-long Faculty Orientation programme for Summer 2019 was held at North South University (NSU) on June 20 and 27, 2019 organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The orientation programme was attended by 25 new faculty members from different departments.
At the beginning of the orientation programme, the Director of IQAC Dr. Nazmun Nahar delivered the welcome address to the new faculty members. VC Prof. Dr. Atiqul Islam in his speech underscored the importance of faculty training programmes and discussed the roles and responsibilities of a teacher. Pro-VC (Designate) Prof. Dr. G.U. Ahsan appreciated the orientation programme and also took part in the deliberations and discussed the concepts of effective teaching and faculty development.
In the span of two days, there were different sessions focusing on administrative rules and regulations at NSU, teaching and research philosophy, effective teaching and assessment methodology, Outcome Based Education (OBE) and curriculum development, Bloom's Taxonomy, faculty code of conduct, research integrity, ways of dealing with students and matters related to discrimination and harassment. There was a special segment on the usage of library resources and IT Services at NSU. The programme ended with vote of thanks from the IQAC Director.
