DSCC to conduct mobile court to find out Aedes breeding ground
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will conduct mobile court to find out Aedes mosquito breeding ground or larva inside the under-construction buildings in the city.
“We will conduct the mobile court from today and it will continue until the situation gets normal,” DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon told reporters while inspecting dengue fever affected children at Dhaka Shishu Hospital this noon.
The DSCC mayor said the under-construction buildings are largely responsible for the reproduction of larva of the Aedes mosquito compared to the other places.
“And thus, we have warned the owners and authorities of these building so that the larva of the Aedes mosquito cannot outbreak from the stagnated water at their construction sites in any circumstances,” he said.
The workers of the DSCC’s cleanliness and health departments have started visiting every house under 57 wards in the city area and destroying larva of the Aedes mosquito where it is found, he said.
During the visit, the workers are also teaching residences of the houses how to prevent the reproduction of larva of the Aedes mosquito, he said.
“We are heading with a target that we would free around 25,000 houses under the city area from mosquito by the next 15 days,” the DSCC mayor said.
Around 25,000 dengue fever affected patients have so far been given primary medical care and the patients who were in critical condition have been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment with free of cost, he added.
During his visit, Khokon along with the chief health officer of the city corporation talked to the guardians of the dengue patients and doctors to know the overall situation about the epidemic of the fever.
