“Nothing will stop me from working” – Sonia Hossain
Sonia Hossain is a well-known face on television, having made her mark as an actor, model and television anchor. Besides being a respected media personality, she is also an associate at a law firm, through which she attended the World Economic Forum’s 19th Annual Meeting in China recently. “I feel honoured to be a part of the event,” she says, “I had the opportunity to meet our honourable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina and Olga Algayevora, the Slovak Diplomat and the Executive Secretary of the United Nation.” Sonia is now a registered member of the World Economic Forum, and is eager to attend their future events.
With the positivity that she brought back from the trip, she is now pumped up for some brand new projects. “As soon as I came back, I did two back-to-back live events, Glam Eve and The Grand Boulevard. I also finished shooting for a dance show.” Sonia is also getting ready to host her own radio show soon. “I am very excited for this, as this is the first time I will have my own radio show. It will air on Radio Aamar, and is planned to be a youth-based show.”
Sonia Hossain also hosts three regular shows on three channels --Desh TV, BanglaVision and Asian TV respectively. “I had decided quite a while ago that I will not act regularly,” says Sonia in response to a question regarding whether she would be seen in a tele-fiction soon. “I have chosen anchoring as my primary career path at the moment, as it is more dignified, and I can give more time to my family.” However, she stated that given the right script, she would consider stepping in front of the camera as an actor again. “No matter in what capacity you see me in, I will never stop working. I am very passionate about what I do, and I will keep learning, growing, and be a better version of myself.”
