Depicting the Grace of Monsoon in Rangamati

Bangladesh Ethnic Artists’ Forum, in association with Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, has organised a three-day (August 14-16) art camp in the Rangamati Hill Districts. Around 70 artists from 52 indigenous communities of Bangladesh including Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Manipuri, Rakhaine, Murong, Hajong, Garo, Chak, Kuch and Tanchanga are participating in the unique art camp themed on the Grace of Monsoon in Rangamati.

Renowned Bangladeshi artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma, also the Adviser of Bangladesh Ethnic Artists’ Forum, attended the art camp on the inaugural day (August 14) to inspire and guide the participating artists. She also illustrated her vision to support the dedicated artists for their creative excellence in the long run. The outcome of the art camp will be exhibited at the Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts, a project of Abinta Kabir Foundation soon.

The artists are portraying their imaginations mingling with aesthetic contemplations shedding light on the lush and fresh greenery of the hilly region. The participants are beautifully depicting the drenched nature in the hills coupled with the mysterious game of light and shades played in the heavenly place.

Aside from portraying fine arts, prominently watercolours, the artists are performing music in their mother languages along with presenting various traditional indigenous dances at Khudro Nri-Goshthir Sangskritik Institute in Rangamati –the place where the art camp is being hosted.
