During his lifetime, he produced a rich body of poetry and music with varying themes, including spiritual and religious devotion, along with rebellion against oppression. His numerous contributions truly helped ornate Bangladeshi culture and heritage. Apart from his musical and lyrical aptitude, Kazi Nazrul Islam also wrote many plays and directed them as well. He breathed his last at the age of 77, and was laid to rest beside the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
