Kahaloo Theatre prepares for Bangabandhu’s birth centenary with Indo-Bangla plays

Bogura's Kahaloo Theatre, an associate of the Bangladesh-Gram Bangla Theatre, organised the Indo - Bangla Drama Festival recently, at the upazila auditorium in Kahaloo. Maldah Gazole's Bishan Theatre Natya Sangstha and Bogura's Kahaloo Theatre jointly presented three plays at the programme. Since 2020 marks the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the organisations arranged the programme to prepare for the occasion.

The Prime Minister's Secretary, Md Nazrul Islam, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the festival. Superintendent of Bogura Police, Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, Bogura District AL Joint General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, and Taufiq Hasan Moina, General Secretary of Bangladesh Bangla Theatre, were present as special guests.

On the first day, Kahaloo Theatre staged the play Granthikhgan Kahe, written by Selim Al-Deen and directed by Abdul Hannan. Members of Kahaloo Theater will travel to India on September 20 to perform this play.

India's Maldah Gazole's Bishan Theatre Natya Sangstha staged two shows of Sethua on the second day. The play revolves around the demolition of the Babri Masjid in India.
