Fans all over the world despaired when it was announced that Spider-Man may never return to the MCU. Well, despair no more; Spider-Man is back! Perhaps, he never left. It has recently been announced that Spider-Man will make appearances in other MCU movies, while his third film is set to be released on July 16, 2021. Production head, Kevin Feige said, "[A]s Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold." Fans are speculating what this statement may mean – whether or not Sony's Spider-Man will merge with MCU's.
