U-19s take 3-0 lead against NZ
Bangladesh under-19s took a winning 3-0 lead in the five-match Youth ODI series against their New Zealand counterparts with an eight-wicket win in the third match at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln today.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored an unbeaten century while opener Tanzid Hasan and middle-order batsman Towhid Hridoy scored half-centuries as Bangladesh cruised to 229 for two in 36.5 overs after the hosts had scored 223 for eight in their fifty overs.
Mahmudul, who was dismissed for 99 in the second ODI, remained unbeaten on 103 off 95 deliveries, his innings featuring 16 fours and a six.
Tanzid scored 65 off 64 deliveries while Hridoy remained not out on 51.
Earlier, despite Ferguson Lellman's unbeaten 116, the hosts could only manage 223 runs in their essay. Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Avishek Das and Hasan Murad took two wickets each for Bangladesh.
The fourth ODI will be held on Wednesday.
