Ganguly’s response to Shastri question goes viral

Sourav Ganguly’s imminent appointment as the BCCI president has invited excitement and enthusiasm amongst fans in India. His tongue-in-cheek response to a question about Ravi Shastri has gone viral according the report by The Times of India.

"Have you spoken with Ravi Shastri?" a reporter asked Ganguly. He replied, saying, “Why? What has he done now?” with a chuckle.

Ganguly and Shastri have not met eye to eye and the relationship between the two soured during India’s coach appointment process in 2016. The then Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman had opted for Anil Kumble over Shastri as the head coach in 2016.

Shastri had accused Ganguly of being absent from his interview. "If Shastri thinks I was behind the appointment of Kumble as the coach and not him, then he is living in a fool’s paradise,” Gangluly had said later.
