Police deployed ahead of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti elections
Police have been deployed at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) today ahead of the upcoming election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti.
Police have been deployed to ensure security inside the BFDC, its Chief Election Commissioner and actor Ilias Kanchan told The Daily Star today.
The deployment came after Chief Election Commissioner Ilias Kanchan sought security from BFDC Managing Director Abdul Karim ahead of the election.
“I want to prepare a congenial atmosphere to hold a fair election…No candidate is allowed to bring procession on the BFDC after 10:00pm. Outsiders will not be allowed to participate in the procession.”
Actress Moushumi and Misha Saudagar are going to vie for the post of president for the upcoming election while Zayed Khan and Ilias Khobra for the post of general secretary which will be held on October 25.
Earlier, actor Misha Saudagar and Zayed Khan at a press conference demanded BFDC’s chief election commissioner to ensure security and sought restriction on the outsiders’ movement inside BFDC.
