BCB to sit down and talk with the players today

The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur has been quiet during the morning hours today. A few age-level players could be seen but the absence of the national team players, who had gone on strike since Monday, had rendered the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) premises quiet.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury was seen walking around the premises. The CEO talked to a The Daily Star's reporter and informed that the board will sit down and have a talk with the players today during some point of the day. The news is certainly positive in regards to a quick resolution with the third round of the National Cricket League set to begin tomorrow while the national team are set to undergo a preparation camp from October 25 for their tour of India in November.

So far, it was known that the board had not been able to talk with any of the players but Nizamuddin revealed that he had managed to talk with Tamim Iqbal.

"Yesterday I talked to Tamim and he said that it wasn't possible for him to give the decision alone. He will talk to others. I also tried to contact the other players but they didn't respond. We are waiting for their response and hopefully we will be able to sit with them today," Nizamuddin said.

It has also been learnt that the players are reportedly going to have a meeting amongst themselves to discuss their next steps.

"If I want to be specific, we are available from 5pm today. We can sit down for talks whether in the BCB premises or somewhere else if they let us know," the BCB CEO said.
