Bahurupi Natya Sangstha and Angan Belgharia stage plays in Mymensingh
Two theatre companies, Bahurupi Natya Sangstha from Mymensingh and Angan Belgharia from Kolkata, staged two plays in a houseful auditorium at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Mymensingh. Bahurupi Natya Sangstha organised the event, marking their 45th founding anniversary.
Bahurupi Natya Sangstha staged Baur, a play about anti-liberation elements, scripted and directed by Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu, the secretary of the company.
On the other hand, Angan Belgharia staged Phere Pawa, a play about social issues. It is written by Baby Sen Gupta and directed by Ovi Sen Gupta. Before the plays were staged, a discussion was held at the event.
The district cultural officer, Arzu Parves, advocate Moazzem Hossain Babul, Dr Mohammad Waliullah, freedom fighters, Zia Uddin Ahmed and Bimol Pal, as well as theatre personalities SM Ali Azhar, Dr Tara Golandaz, Arabinda Sarker Jibon and Sarwar Jahan, spoke at the discussion. Advocate Abul Kashem was also present.
