The late Autumn showers across Dhaka and many other parts of the country caused by a low in the Bay of Bengal is likely to linger till tomorrow, Bangladesh Meteorology Department said today.

The sky will remain cloudy until tomorrow but the day after tomorrow (Monday) is likely to be bright and sunny, Dr Md Abdul Mannan, a meteorologist of Dhaka Met office, told The Daily Star in the morning.

The met office recorded maximum 121 milimetre of rainfall in Bogura in the last 24 hours till 9am today as the country has been witnessing rainfall since Wednesday, the official said.

In Dhaka, a total of 22 mm rain has been recorded during the period. The met office predicted that the sun may shine on the day after tomorrow, he added.

According to the weather forecast, the low over coastal Andhra Pradesh-Odisha and adjoining area now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area as a low pressure area, extending its trough to North Bay.  

Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
